I needed to send a “thank you” to someone who really helped me out and made my life so much easier. Of course, I was going to go big corporate at first. Then my brain worked lol. I called How Sweet It Is and asked if this is something she could or would do. Without a moment’s hesitation YES, I can. Within the hour a dozen of the most delicious gorgeous cupcakes were walked over and delivered! Could you imagine! Kindness! So my point is shop local! Support your community. Ask even if it’s not the norm. Store owners are more than willing to accommodate if possible. Please visit How Sweet It Is, often. We all need to enjoy cupcakes more, the world would be a better place if we did! They have other delicious treats as well and it’s a gorgeous store.

From the moment you walk into How Sweet It Is, you’re welcomed by Aurea, the owner, who is incredibly personable, kind, and polite. She truly makes you feel at home every single visit. On top of that, the treats are absolutely amazing! Our go to favorites are the Death by Chocolate, Reese’s cupcakes, the ices for the kids, and their chocolate milkshakes all are consistently delicious and made to perfection. We’ve also tried several other cupcakes, and honestly, everything we’ve had has been just as incredible. If you haven’t tried this place yet, we highly recommend you do you won’t be disappointed! We find ourselves coming back every two weeks or at least once a month because it’s just that good. A true gem!

My mom purchased cupcakes here from my Bridal shower and they were a hit ! They were pink velvet and were absolutely delicious! I’ve also tried the blue velvet equally delicious and everyone in the store is soooo sweet and helpful ❤️ Would def visit over and over and recommend everyone to come here

Aurea is absolutely one of the best people ever. Hey shop was built with nothing more than hard work, blood, sweat, tears and a whole ton of massive love. The candy is sweet and the atmosphere is even sweeter. Everyone of all ages will love this hidden gem that sits right in plain sight of McLean Ave. One of the things you have to try are the ices she makes because they are just so creamy and not like those fake ice and food coloring ones you get from other lie grade places. Also, allot of the items in store are hand made, like the cake toppers, cards and soaps. She also is hosting special sessions either for kids or just for adults to express their real creative side in a fun and fantastic environment. If you have nothing to do on a weekend (or weekday), then you should make it a priority to stop in, grab an ices, chat for a bit and enjoy good chocolate and candy with the little ones or your few close friends. Always support your local shops, without them, we lose the charm and unique experiences we get from meeting wonderful people who own these businesses.
